About us

Small business is the fabric of this country.

Without it, nothing holds together.

We want Territory to be the most useful company in America to businesses with one to twenty people. That means knowing more about how they get found than anybody else does.

Here are two sentences we hear all the time.

“I cannot find anybody to do this.”

“I called them and never heard back.”

Neither one is about bad work. It is four people covering eleven jobs, and something has to give. It is usually the part nobody is chasing you for.

So right now your marketing is somebody’s second job. Your wife. Your son. Your accountant, which is our favorite one. And it works, for a while. Then the season turns and the posting stops. Nobody did anything wrong. There was never enough room for it.

We are the extra pair of hands you could never justify hiring.

The same work every month, whether it was a good month or a hard one. You approve it before it goes out. You get told afterwards what happened. You never have to wonder whether we did our job.

Two neighbors cannot both have the advantage.

We study your trade, then put what we learn into your marketing.

Picture us working for the shop ten miles down the road as well. We would hand you both the same answers. Whatever edge you had, we would have handed to him — and you paid us for it.

So the fifty miles is not a favor. It is the only way the work is worth anything.

We run off numbers. We live by relationship. The reports are real and the benchmarks are real. But you are not an account number, and there is a limit to how many businesses we can look after properly. We would rather stop at that number than go past it.

Dig your well before you need water.

It is our favorite line and it is the reason we exist. The big outfits have whole departments for this. You have a Tuesday evening. That gap is the only reason they win, and it is a gap we can close.

What we are building

Known, trusted, chosen, and remembered.

That is the job, in four words. We help local businesses get known, trusted, chosen, and remembered.

The aim behind it is bigger. We want to become the trusted source of knowledge about local businesses, and help those businesses earn attention and trust.

And we would rather deeply understand and grow one great local company than sell the same service to all of its competitors.

We are building this to last. A company meant to serve local businesses for generations, built on trust, service, and long-term stewardship.

How we work

Four things we hold to.

Soul

Your marketing should look and sound like you. Real photos of your jobs, and words written by a person who has met you.

Consistency

The same work every month, and one look held everywhere, for years. That is what gets a business remembered.

Doing the boring stuff

The listing kept right. Every review answered. The phone and the form tested every month. Nobody notices until it stops.

Always reaching

We keep learning your trade, and we tell you what we find.

We work in Pennsylvania, in towns like yours.

About the owner

America needs to know more about its men and women in the trades.

I am Nathanael Losch. I own Territory Advertising, and I live in Central Pennsylvania with my wife and our two dogs, Piper and Goose.

The most important thing about me is that I am saved by Christ. My favorite verse, and the one that brought me to my knees, is Romans 8:1. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.” He was the ultimate carpenter. Can you imagine his work?

I love the trades, and I love learning about them. I have worked in HVAC, carpentry, doors and windows, home remodeling, painting and building cabins, and I am still working in the trades today.

From job to job, the most common thing I have heard from customers is the same. “I can never get ahold of anybody.” “I just don’t know who to call.” “I can’t find anyone.”

I know plenty of hard-working people who are more skilled than I am. There are jobs out there they would absolutely crush. But they do not have the exposure, or the customer gets lost by accident because the follow-up was missed or came too late.

And none of that is the contractor’s or service pro’s fault. They are busy doing the work. In the middle of handling lumber, checking measurements, watching the budget, freezing or sweating their tail off, figuring out invoices and 1099s, pinching fingers, or driving their kid to school in a work truck full of tools, there is sometimes simply no time for a routine Facebook post, an Instagram post, or a website update.

You have probably heard it on the news, or listening to a Mike Rowe podcast. The labor field is in need of people.

My goal with Territory Advertising is to get you found, and ready to take on those customers, because it is going to be overwhelming.

Our goal, across the United States, is to study what is working and what is not across our clients, and report it back to builders and trades workers. To let them know what is standard across the country, and whether booked jobs are spiking or declining. All of it for the greater good of the trades.
